      Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

It’s as simple as that. As an individual human there’s not much you can do. And if you try to get involved in being super ecofreindly then it gets murky and you can do more harm than good (paper straws are currently probably worse for the environment than plastic for example).

The best thing to do is to take sensible steps to reduce the electricity, gas and stuff that you use. Reuse what you can until and recycle everything you are able when you’re done with it.

If you want to make a big difference becoming a lobbist to the government, a politician or some kind of head of a high polluting industry is the best thing to do.

Or you can always be a scientist. My work looks to reduce energy waste through heat loss that could make things far more energy efficient. And I don’t even work directly on climate change.

James gave a great answer and I totally agree with him. Limiting the use of fossil fuels such as oil, carbon and natural gas and replacing them with renewable and cleaner sources of energy is the ultimate goal of most governments. Reducing the amount of flying and car use is really important, these are big sources of emissions, you could also shop more locally and reduce the amount of meat you eat for example. Shopping locally is important as carbon footprints from locally sourced products will usually have a much lower carbon footprint than something that was produced in China and then being flown across the world.
